The queue

Every order waiting on the Nigerian Exchange, on one line. Stocks with buyers stacked and nothing left to sell into sit at the top. Stocks with sellers and no bids underneath sit at the bottom.

Nothing left to sell

Buyers are queued and the offer side is empty. Under the exchange's daily limit, that demand carries into the next session.

\u2014

Nothing left to buy

Sell orders are resting with no bids underneath them. Sellers have to come down to find a buyer.

What you are seeing

The bar on each side is the naira value of orders resting on that side of the book. Naira rather than share count, so a penny stock's million shares cannot outrank a blue chip's.

Why an empty side matters

The NGX caps most stocks at a 10% move per session. When a stock runs out of sellers before the close, that demand does not disappear \u2014 it queues for the next session.

What it is not

A snapshot of resting orders, not a forecast. Orders can be pulled at any time and a thin book moves on one participant. Read it next to block trade activity.
